FAQ
Are heavy bags good for muay thai?
Yes, heavy bags are great for muay thai training. They allow you to practice kicking, knees and punching combinations which helps in sparring and muay thai fights.
How do I choose a muay thai heavy bag?
Heavy bags come in different shapes and lengths. Wrecking ball and uppercut-angle heavy bags are a good choice for boxing-heavy training, bowling bags and teardrop bags are great for kicking and knees, and regular heavy bags are great for all types of strikes. The largest type of heavy bag, the 7ft pole bag, is great for drilling hard kick combinations if you want to prevent the bag from moving too much.
What size heavy bag should I choose?
This depends on how much space you have. Most heavy bags will move when you hit them (depending on how heavy they are), and so the more they move the more space around the bag you will need. Lighter bags will move far more than heavier bags, but heavier bags will need a stronger support.
Can I use a heavy bag for boxing?
Yes, many of our heavy bags are great for boxing sessions, but our wrecking ball and uppercut-angle heavy bags are specifically designed to help with drilling boxing combinations.
Can I use a heavy bag for MMA?
As MMA involves knowing and perfecting muay thai combinations you can definitely use our heavy bags as part of our MMA training. You can use heavy bags to drill your striking and practice clinching with knees.
